What you’ll do with your time

On the West Coast, we are leading the way in many respects when it comes to innovations in rural health delivery in New Zealand. We’re all about supportive working relationships between the practices and hospitals, as well as enjoying the unique work relationships that stem from the diverse GP network on the West Coast.

You will have the opportunity to work across our diverse facility which includes an inpatient ward, an Emergency/Stabilising space and our busy Primary care Clinic. As we are delivering 24hr care to our community you will be required to be part of our out of hours care team at times. The focus for the Westport team is to support people to stay well in their own homes, improve the health of our population, improve equity and access to all services, integrate care inter-professionally and to work with the community, PHO and NGOs at a local level.

As you will be employed by the West Coast DHB and have access to a wide variety of E Journals, specialist medical libraries and a dedicated CME allowance every year so you will be able to continually grow and develop your practice.
