About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced General Practitioner to support clients, their families, and the broader community improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for those on Gumbaynggirr lands.

You will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality primary health care from pre-conception to old-age.  We support a patient centred, whole of person wellbeing approach across this lifespan, where “health” is not just the abscence of disease. There is a focus on providing uptodate evidence informed care and the prevention, early detection and management of long term health challenges around physical social and emotional wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to explore particular areas of interest within the primary health environment supported by a truly diverse multidisciplinary team.

About Galambila Aboriginal Health Service

About the business

Galambila Aboriginal Corporation (trading as Galambila Aboriginal Health Service) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service located in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

We are a leading provider of high quality, culturally relevant, comprehensive primary health and related care services.   Presently we are reviewing our opportunities for enhancing whole of practice care and continuum of care approaches including embedding our Clinical Governance Framework and our Cultural Integrity Framework.

Our staff are key to improving the health and wellbeing outcomes for our clients.  We currently employ 8 part time General Practitioners, 3 Registered Nurses, 12 Aboriginal Health Workers which includes AHW Practitioners and Health Promotions, 1 Clinical Consultant Pharmacist, 1 Social Worker, and 1 part time Psychologist. Galambila hosts several specialist clinics with specialists seeing clients on site, working alongside our primary health team to deliver comprehensive health services.

Galambila serves the Aboriginal communities of Coffs Harbour, Urunga, Bellingen, Woolgoolga and provides outreach services at a number of sites and venues across the region.  We also collaborate in service delivery across in the broader region with other communities.
